Xiaomi Redmi Note Rear Camera Replacement

This guide is for replacing the rear-facing camera.

Step 1 | Battery

Power down the Xiaomi Redmi Note.

  • Disconnect the battery to prevent accidental power-ons.
  • Insert a plastic opening tool between the charging port and rear case.
  • Pry the end of the rear case up from the charging port.

Run the plastic opening tool along the side seam to release the rear casing.

Find the notch at the bottom edge of the battery.

  • Insert a finger into the notch and pull upwards.

  • The battery will be removed.

Step 4 | Midframe

Remove 12 x 3.5mm Phillips #00 screws from the midframe.

Insert a plastic opening tool into the seam between the midframe and bottom frame.

  • Run the tool along the seam to loosen the connection.
  • Pry up the midframe using the tool.

Be prepared for snapping sounds as clips disconnect.

Lift the entire midframe out of the frame with both hands.

Step 6 | Rear Camera

Locate the press-fit connector to the left of the rear-facing camera.

  • Pull the connector away from the camera module to release it.
  • Once released, you can lift the rear-facing camera out of its housing.
