Locate the SIM card tray on the upper left edge of the phone.
Remove the SIM card tray from the phone.
Replace the entire SIM tray if the gasket cannot be repaired.
The back cover may be secured with significant force, especially around the camera cut-out.
Insert an opening pick at the bottom right corner and gently pry the back cover loose.
Insert a second opening pick at the bottom edge, angled steeply.
Position the opening pick at the lower-left corner and slide it along the left edge of your phone.
Do not remove the pick yet, as this will cause the plastic clips to snap back into place.
Leave the pick in position at the top-left corner.
Slide the opening pick along the right edge of your phone to release the plastic clips.
Insert the left opening pick into the top left corner and gently slide it along the edge to disengage the top edge plastic clips.
Do not attempt to disconnect the power and volume button cable at this time.
Align the back cover on the left side of the phone assembly, folding it like a book cover.
Do not strain or tear the flex cable during this procedure — risk of damage.
Reassemble by snapping the back cover into its original position, ensuring proper alignment with the phone assembly.
Remove the motherboard cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the motherboard cover.
Do not press down on the middle of the connector — risk of pin bending.
Remove the back cover from the phone assembly.
Disconnect the battery cable by carefully prying the connector straight up with a spudger.
Avoid damaging the battery with sharp tools - risk of chemical leakage or fire.
Remove the orange adhesive strip labeled with a B, following the same pull-tab procedure as before.
Avoid direct heat on the battery to prevent overheating.
For added assistance, use heat from a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate — but be cautious not to overheat the device.
Peel the battery off remaining adhesive.
Do not reinstall a damaged or deformed battery, as this poses a potential safety hazard.
Secure new battery with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape:
During reassembly, temporarily reconnect battery to motherboard before seating to ensure correct alignment. Disconnect after seating.
