Redmi Note 9 Pro Screen Replacement

If your battery is swollen, take precautions and consider replacing it first.

  • Discharge the battery below 25% before disassembling your device to minimize risks.

Check that you have:

  • A replacement screen with correct mounting for the original frame and motherboard.
  • Replacement adhesives for both rear glass and screen.

Note: If your replacement screen comes pre-installed in a new frame, follow a different procedure or return the part as it is not supported by this guide.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener.

  • Apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen adhesive underneath.
  • Alternative methods:
    • A hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may be used.

Do not apply excessive heat as this can cause damage to the display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge, as close as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, use strong tape or superglue to attach the suction handle securely.

Use the suction handle to lift the rear glass and create a small gap between the back cover and frame.

If you're having trouble creating a gap, apply more heat following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive
