Excessive heat can damage the display and internal battery.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate to loosen adhesive, but monitor temperature closely.

Attach a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge, as close to the edge as possible.

If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick; try using strong tape or superglue it in place and let it cure before proceeding.

  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and frame.
  • Apply more heat if needed, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating and creating trouble.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
