This guide is for replacing a cracked or broken screen on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T. If the frame is damaged, replace it as well to ensure proper screen mounting and prevent uneven pressure damage. Before disassembling, discharge the battery below 25% to avoid potential fire/explosion risk.
Switch off your phone before starting.
Secure a suction handle to the bottom of the rear glass as close to the edge as possible.
If the phone's rear glass is cracked, apply strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.
Insert a second opening pick and slide it to the bottom left corner.
Leave the opening picks in place to prevent adhesive resealing.
Do not remove the suction handle yet, as you will use it later as a rear glass stand.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Reheat the iOpener if adhesive becomes hard to cut.
Avoid inserting the opening pick deeper than 5 mm to prevent damaging the fingerprint connector.
Do not remove the rear glass completely yet, as the fingerprint cable is still connected to the motherboard.
Position the rear glass on the right side of the phone and use the suction handle as a temporary support.
Power down the device completely before proceeding.
Remove eleven Phillips #00 screws, each 3.9 mm in length.
Insert the opening pick under the motherboard cover's bottom edge.
Disconnect and remove the motherboard cover, taking care to avoid damaging the black protective foil that protects the battery.

Remove the daughterboard cover.
Apply a iOpener to the screen and heat it up.
Apply a suction handle to the phone's bottom edge when it's warm.
Insert an iFlex between the midframe and screen to widen the gap. Leave it in place to prevent resealing.
Slide the opening pick from the gap created earlier to the bottom right corner, starting to cut the adhesive.
Insert a third opening pick under the bottom left corner of the phone.
If cutting becomes too difficult, reheat and reapply the iOpener.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the top left corner.
When nearing the front facing camera, only work with the tip of the opening pick to avoid damaging or smearing the camera.
Insert the fifth opening pick into the right edge of the phone.
Do not remove the display completely yet, as the display cable may still be attached.
