This repair guide is for replacing a faulty fingerprint sensor in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T smartphone.
Switch off your phone.
Secure a suction handle to the phone's rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.
If the rear glass is cracked, try lifting it with strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place to proceed.
If necessary, apply more heat to soften the adhesive further. Follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
Insert a second opening pick and slide it to the bottom left corner to cut the adhesive.
Insert third opening pick into bottom left corner.
Check if the adhesive has cooled down, causing it to be hard to cut.
Use your iOpener to reheat the adhesive.
Avoid inserting the opening pick more than 5 mm deep to prevent damage to the fingerprint connector.
Locate the suction handle and attach it to the rear glass.
Disconnect the fingerprint flex cable using a spudger.
Power on the phone, but make sure to turn it off again before continuing.
Remove the rear glass.
Apply a iOpener to the rear of the phone, where the fingerprint reader is situated.
Remove the fingerprint reader.
