Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Screen Replacement

Discharge battery below 25% before disassembly to prevent accidental puncture and potential fire or explosion.

  • Check that replacement screen is correct for your Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, as some come with pre-installed frames requiring alternative procedures.
  • Make sure you have replacement adhesive for reattaching components during reassembly.

Deformed frame requires replacement to ensure proper screen mounting and even pressure.

Step 1 | Loosen the rear glass adhesive

Step 1 image

Heat the iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for 2+ minutes.

  • The heat will loosen the adhesive underneath.

  • Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.
  • For badly cracked glass, apply a layer of clear packing tape for better suction cup adhesion. Alternatively, use strong tape instead or superglue the suction cup to the glass.
  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the glass and the frame.
  • Apply more heat if needed to soften the adhesive, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.
