Not replacing the adhesive seals during reassembly may compromise water protection.
Apply a iOpener to the rear glass and heat it for at least two minutes.
Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the rear glass as close to the edge as possible.
Apply caution when using heat as excessive overheating can damage the iOpener and surrounding components.
Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the glass and frame.
Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to carefully slice the adhesive without causing further damage.
Insert another opening pick and position it at the bottom left corner.
If adhesive becomes hard to cut, it may have cooled down — use iOpener to reheat.
Leave one opening pick at top left corner to prevent adhesive resealing.
Insert a fourth opening pick under the top left corner of the rear glass.
Insert the fifth opening pick into the top right corner.
Do not attempt to fully remove the rear glass yet, as the fingerprint sensor remains connected.
Avoid tensioning the fingerprint flex cable while folding.
Fold the rear glass to the left side, similar to opening a book.
Remove the Phillips screwdriver and take out the three screws (3.3 mm long) securing the connector cover.
Use a pair of tweezers to remove the connector cover.
Insert the flat end of a spudger under the battery flex cable and gently pry it loose from the motherboard.
Separate the back cover, including the fingerprint sensor, from the phone assembly for easier handling.
Bring the black flap on the ZIF connector into an upright position using the pointed end of a spudger.
Use a pair of tweezers to pull the fingerprint flex cable straight out of the ZIF connector.
Remove the screws securing the loudspeaker assembly using a Phillips screwdriver.
