Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Opening Procedure

This guide is intended as a supplement to other procedures. Do not attempt to use it independently.

  • Follow these steps to access the internal components of your Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro for repair purposes only.

Step 1 | Eject the SIM tray

Insert a SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray at the left edge.

  • Press directly into the hole to eject the SIM card tray.
  • Remove the ejected SIM card tray.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Locate the plastic clips holding the back cover in place.

  • Insert an opening pick between the screen and back cover on the left edge, where the SIM card tray is situated.

Step 3 | Release the plastic clips

Slide the opening pick along the left edge, reaching the bottom left corner to disengage the plastic clips.

Use an opening pick to slide along the bottom edge, then reach the bottom right corner to release the plastic clips.

Insert an opening pick into the right edge of your device, moving it towards the top right corner.

Be cautious not to apply too much pressure on the edges — risk of damage.

Step 6 | Release the remaining plastic clips

Slide a pick tool along the top edge to dislodge any remaining plastic clips.

  • Continue to hold the back cover in place, as it is still attached to the motherboard.

Do not attempt to remove the back cover fully yet, as this may cause damage or loss of connectivity.

Step 7 | Swing open the phone assembly

Fold the phone assembly towards the left side of the back cover, similar to opening a book.

Step 8 | Unscrew the fingerprint cable connector cover

Remove the 2.9 mm-long screw using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 9 | Remove the metal cover

Remove metal cover with blunt nose tweezers.

Step 10 | Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable with the flat end of a spudger.

Step 11 | Remove the back cover

Remove the back cover.
