Discharge the battery below 25% and avoid accidental damage to prevent a thermal event.

Guide the opening pick along the left edge to the lower left corner.
Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge of the device, moving it towards the bottom right corner.
Slide the opening pick along the right edge of the phone towards the top right corner.
This will help release the plastic clips.
Release the remaining plastic clips by sliding the opening pick along the top edge.
Do not attempt to fully remove the back cover at this time, as it remains connected to the motherboard.
Fold the phone assembly towards the left side of the back cover, mimicking the motion of opening a book.
Remove the fingerprint cable connector cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove metal cover with a pair of blunt nose tweezers.
Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable using the flat end of a spudger.
Remove the back cover.
Remove the two 3.0 mm long screws securing the battery connector cover using a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove battery connector cover with a pair of blunt nose tweezers.
Disconnect the battery connector with a spudger, prying it straight up from its socket.
Avoid using sharp tools that could puncture the battery, causing a chemical leak or fire hazard.
Avoid pressing down on the battery.
Do not pry under the battery if the adhesive breaks off; instead, try to retrieve it or proceed with caution to the next step.
Repeat the previous pull-tab removal procedure on the second pull-tab.
Wait one minute for the solution to weaken the adhesive before proceeding.
Remove the battery.
A damaged or deformed battery must not be reused due to safety risks.
