Step 1 | Screen and bracket

Opening the phone can be very heavy; use proper lifting techniques.

  • Remove the SIM tray by sliding it out of its slot.
  • Locate and remove the two pentalobe P2 screws
  • Apply a suction cup to the phone's screen, then carefully pry open the device with a tool.

  • Disconnect the fingerprint cable.
  • Remove the screen cable, which is for display purposes only.
  • Identify and disconnect the power cable.
  • Unplug the buttons cable.

Step 3

Unplug the power cable by gently lifting it.

  • ZIF connector removal: The screen cable is also a ZIF connector, so unplug it in the same manner.
  • You can test the new screen now by plugging the new screen cable and then the power cable.
  • Remove the button cable carefully as they are also ZIF connectors

  • Remove the battery using a hard rubber spatula, prying from the left bottom side. Do not remove it from the right side, or you risk damaging cables.

    • Remove any remaining glue from the battery and re-tape it inside the white lines with TESA 2mm tapes

  • Unplug the antenna wire running down the right side of the phone to the bottom mainboard.

Remove 3 Phillips #0 screws from the top edge of the phone.

  • Remove the vibration motor cover.
  • Remove the entire upper motherboard assembly.

Remove the Phillips #0 screw from the lower casing.

Be cautious when handling the lower board as it is extremely fragile and prone to damage.

  • Unplug all connectors; a photo reference may be helpful for accurate identification.
  • Use a hair dryer to gently heat the lower board, which is held in place by adhesive.

Avoid applying excessive force when attempting to remove the board. If it does not come out easily, reheat and try again.

Step 6

Heat the borders of the screen with a heat gun or other suitable device.

  • Apply a suction cup to loosen and carefully open the screen.
  • Detach the cables from the screen, ensuring they are all disconnected.
  • Remove all remaining glue from the plastic bracket.

Step 7

Apply TESA 2mm tape for re-gluing the bracket.

  • Glue the edges of the bracket only, avoiding cameras, speakers, and proximity sensors.
  • Consult the linked video for specific glueing locations.

Step 8

Proceed with original assembly instructions, starting from the end.
