Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G Motherboard Replacement

Power down your Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G and ensure it is disconnected from any power source to avoid damage or electrical shock.

  • Identify the affected models: 23090RA98C, 23090RA98G, 23090RA98I
  • A damaged motherboard may be causing issues with random shutdowns and data transmission/reception problems

The motherboard is a critical component that enables communication between key phone components. It needs to be replaced if it's damaged.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Ensure the device is turned off.

  • Use a SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray.

Heat the iOpener until warm.

  • Apply the heated iOpener to all edges of the phone.
  • The heat will soften the adhesive, allowing for easy removal of the back panel.

Place the suction handle on the back panel.

  • Lift the suction handle while inserting an opening tool into the created gap.
  • Widen the gap between the back panel and the phone as much as possible.
  • Insert at least two opening picks when the space is wide enough.

Drag opening picks along the edges of the back panel.

  • The back panel should detach and pop out.
  • Remove the back panel.

Step 5 | Battery

Remove seven 5.2 mm black motherboard cover screws using a JIS #000 screwdriver.

  • Remove three 4.4 mm grey motherboard-cover screws using a JIS #000 screwdriver. One screw may be covered by a red warranty sticker.
  • Using picks, carefully remove the motherboard cover.
  • Detach and lift up the two ribbons holding the battery.

Remove the eight 5.3 mm black ringer-cover screws using a JIS #000 screwdriver.

Next, remove the 4.5 mm grey ringer-screw with the same JIS #000 screwdriver.

  • Use an opening tool to carefully pry away the ringer-cover and its attached blue wire.
  • Disconnect the blue wire by unclipping its metal head.

Lift up the two press connectors above the battery using an opening tool.

  • Peel off the stickers on either side of the battery.
  • Identify and separate the orange sticker on the right side into two labelled A and B stickers.

Be cautious when handling the A sticker, as it may rip if too much force is applied.

  • Pull on the "A" orange sticker to prop up the battery.
  • If necessary, use the opening tool to assist in propping up the battery.

Disconnect the battery.

  • Pull on the "B" orange sticker to remove it.

Step 9 | Motherboard

Unclip the metal head of the black wire to disconnect it.

Use your fingers to lift up the orange press connector.

Lift up the motherboard from the bottom-right corner using a pick.

  • Continue lifting until the motherboard is completely removed.
