Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G Camera Module Replacement

Damaged camera symptoms include abnormal noise, shaking, and poor focusing. Replace the module if broken or malfunctioning.

  • The rear camera module consists of 4 cameras: front, main, wide angle, and macro.
  • Each has distinct resolutions and uses:
    • Main camera: standard photos and videos
    • Wide angle camera: wide shots
    • Macro camera: close-up shots
    • Front camera: selfies, facial recognition

Use an iOpener to melt the adhesive and remove the phone's back panel. Disconnect power before disassembling.

Step 1 | Back Panel

Turn off the device.

  • Use a SIM card eject tool to remove the SIM card tray.

Apply heat to the iOpener until warm.

  • Place the warmed iOpener on each edge of the phone, ensuring the adhesive under the back panel softens and melts.

Place the suction handle on the back panel.

  • Lift the suction handle while inserting an opening tool into the gap created.
  • Widen the space by lifting further, creating room for insertion of at least two opening picks.

Drag the opening picks along the borders of the back panel to lift it up.

  • The back panel should pop out.
  • Remove it.

Step 5 | Battery

Remove seven 5.2 mm black motherboard cover screws using a JIS #000 screwdriver.

One screw may be covered by a red warranty sticker.

  • Remove three 4.4 mm grey motherboard-cover screws using the same JIS #000 screwdriver.
  • Using the picks, carefully lift up the motherboard cover and detach the black strip covering the battery.
  • Lift up the two ribbons holding the battery in place.

  • Remove eight 5.3 mm black ringer-cover screws using a JIS #000 screwdriver.
  • Next, remove one 4.5 mm grey ringer-screw using the same JIS #000 screwdriver.
  • Using an opening tool, carefully pry off the ringer-cover and detach its blue wire.
  • Careful not to damage the blue wire — unclip its metal head to disconnect it.

Lift up the two press connectors above the battery using an opening tool.

Be careful not to touch any electrical components.

  • Peel off the stickers on either side of the battery, taking note that the orange sticker on the right side will separate into two labels: A and B.
  • Pull on the "A" orange sticker to prop up the battery. If necessary, use an opening tool for assistance.

  • Remove the battery.
  • Pull the "B" side of the orange sticker to remove it.

Step 9 | Motherboard

Unclip the metal head of the black wire.

Release the orange press connector and lift it upwards.

Lift the motherboard from the bottom-right corner using a picks.

  • Continue to lift until the motherboard is free.
  • Remove the motherboard.

Step 12 | Camera Module

Release the press connectors adjacent to each camera.

Step 14

Remove the Main Camera by peeling off the adhesive stickers and carefully lifting out the module.

  • To remove the Wide Angle/Macro Camera, use reverse tweezers to bend the metal holders around the camera, then lift it out.
