Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the rear glass, as close as possible.

If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick; try lifting with strong tape or superglue it in place and allow to cure.

  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and frame.
  • Apply more heat if needed, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

  • Rear glass removal is required.
    • Clean relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher).
    • Apply new adhesive as needed after cleaning.

  • Do not apply pressure until the back cover is installed.

Secure the back cover with either pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.
  • After installing the back cover, apply steady, strong pressure for several minutes to form a good bond. A stack of heavy books can be used for this purpose.
