Replacing the midframe may compromise your device's IP rating.
Do not apply excessive heat to the phone's display or internal battery.
Attach a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge, as close to the edge as possible.
If the rear glass is cracked, you may need to use strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle in place.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap and slide it towards the bottom right corner to cut through the adhesive.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Insert another opening pick at the bottom edge.
Check if the adhesive is cool; use iOpener for 1-2 minutes to reheat it.
Position an additional opening pick at the top left corner.
Insert a fifth opening pick underneath the top right corner.
Remove the rear glass.
Ensure all relevant areas are clean with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) before proceeding.
Insert SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paper clip into SIM tray hole at phone's bottom edge.
If you incorrectly insert tool into microphone hole, damage is unlikely and the microphone will likely still function properly.
Remove the midframe using a Phillips screwdriver.
Locate the SIM tray slot on the bottom left edge of the phone.
Releasing the midframe clips may require a gentle but firm pressure.
Insert an opening pick along the left edge of the device and slide it slowly to disengage the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick into the top left corner of the phone, then work it along the top edge, releasing the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick around the top right corner and along the right edge of the phone to release the remaining plastic clips.
Do not attempt to remove the midframe at this stage, as the midframe cable remains connected to the motherboard.
Be careful when opening the midframe as it may be secured.
Remove the midframe cable by carefully prying the connector straight up using a spudger.
Remove the midframe.
