Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro Midframe Replacement

Replacing the midframe may compromise your device's IP rating.

  • Follow this guide to replace the midframe on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro.
  • Purchase replacement adhesive for reattaching the rear glass during reassembly.
  • Your device will retain normal functionality, but its IP rating may be lost.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Do not apply excessive heat to the phone's display or internal battery.

  • Apply an iOpener to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but monitor temperature to avoid overheating.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Attach a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge, as close to the edge as possible.

If the rear glass is cracked, you may need to use strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle in place.

  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and frame.
  • If necessary, apply more heat to soften the adhesive further. Follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap and slide it towards the bottom right corner to cut through the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Step 3 | Slice the bottom edge adhesive

Insert another opening pick at the bottom edge.

  • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner of your phone.
  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge to cut the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place in top left corner to prevent resealing.

Insert a fifth opening pick underneath the top right corner.

  • Slide the opening pick along the right edge of the rear glass to slice the remaining adhesive.

Step 7 | Remove the rear glass

Remove the rear glass.

Ensure all relevant areas are clean with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) before proceeding.

  • Apply new adhesive where necessary to the cleaned areas.
  • Secure the new back cover using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the back cover. A stack of heavy books can provide the necessary weight.

Step 8 | Eject the SIM card tray

Insert SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paper clip into SIM tray hole at phone's bottom edge.

  • Press directly into hole to eject SIM card tray.
  • Remove ejected SIM card tray.

If you incorrectly insert tool into microphone hole, damage is unlikely and the microphone will likely still function properly.
