Replacing the loudspeaker may cause your device to lose its IP rating.

  • Follow this guide to replace the loudspeaker.
  • You will need replacement adhesive for reassembling the rear glass.

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least 2 minutes to loosen adhesive.

  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.
  • Be cautious not to overheat the phone, as it can suffer heat damage and harm the display and internal battery.

Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.

If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick; try lifting it with strong tape or superglue it in place and let it cure before proceeding.

  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and frame.
  • If trouble is experienced creating a gap, apply more heat to soften the adhesive further; follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Insert an opening pick into the gap created.

  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the bottom edge adhesive
