Ensure new screen mounts correctly by replacing damaged frame if deformed.

Secure new set of replacement adhesives for back panel and screen before starting.
Insert a SIM eject tool, SIM eject bit, or straightened paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray located at the left edge of the phone.

A cracked rear glass may prevent the suction handle from sticking.
Use the suction handle to lift the rear glass and create a small gap between it and the frame.
If a gap cannot be created, apply more heat while following the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
Slide the opening pick to the top right corner to cut the adhesive.
Do not remove the opening pick; leave it in place to keep the adhesive separated.
Leave the opening picks in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Reheat the adhesive with an iOpener if it becomes hard to cut.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the bottom left corner of your phone.
Insert a sixth opening pick at the left edge, next to the top end of the power and volume button cut out.
Remove the rear glass.
Incorrect installation may result in a weak bond and damage to your phone.
A stack of heavy books can be used to apply additional pressure.
Remove the midframe using a Phillips screwdriver.
Locate the plastic clips holding the midframe in place.
Slide the opening pick along the left edge of your phone.
This action will release the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick along the top edge to disengage the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick along the right edge to release the remaining plastic clips.

Use the flat end of a spudger to gently pry up the power and volume button flex cable from the motherboard.
Remove the midframe.
Use a spudger to pry the battery cable connector straight up out of its socket.
Disconnect the display flex cable using a spudger, prying the connector straight up from its socket.
Apply a iOpener or heat gun to the screen, loosening the adhesive beneath.
Warming up the screen makes it easier to remove.
Insert an opening pick at the bottom left corner of the screen and slide it across to cut the adhesive.
Do not remove the opening pick until the repair is complete, as this can cause the adhesive to reseal.
Insert a second opening pick into the top left corner of the screen.
If adhesive becomes hard to cut, it has likely cooled down.
Avoid damaging or smearing the front facing camera.
Do not remove the display yet — the cable is still threaded through the frame.
Locate and thread the display flex cable through the gap in the midframe.
Remove the screen.
