Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro Rear Glass Replacement

Opening the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro compromises the waterproof sealing and may cause permanent damage.

  • Replace a damaged rear glass on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro using this guide.
  • You will need replacement adhesive to ensure water-protection during reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Do not apply excessive heat to the phone's components.

  • Apply an iOpener to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but keep the temperature in check.

Step 2 | Secure a suction handle

A cracked rear glass may prevent the suction handle from sticking.

  • Use strong tape to lift the suction handle, or apply superglue and allow it to cure before proceeding.

The rear glass surface is not smooth. Ensure a secure grip by applying tape or moistening the suction handle.

Secure the suction handle to the right edge of the rear glass as close to the edge as possible.

Step 3 | Create a gap

Use the suction handle to lift the rear glass, creating a small gap between it and the frame.

  • Apply more heat if needed, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 4 | Slice the adhesive

Insert the opening pick into the top right corner and slide it downwards to cut the adhesive.

  • Do not remove the opening pick as this may allow the adhesive to seal over again.

Step 5 | Slice the adhesive

Insert a second opening pick beside the top right corner.

  • Ack! Slide this new pick to the bottom right and slice through that adhesive.
  • Leave both picks in place to stop the adhesive from sealing up again.

Use your iOpener to reheat the adhesive if it becomes hard to cut.

  • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom right corner of your phone.
  • Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the bottom left corner to prevent resealing.

Step 7

  • Slide the opening pick up to the volume button.

Remove the rear glass.

  • Clean the relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and apply new adhesive where necessary.
  • Secure the new rear glass using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.

Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the rear glass. A stack of heavy books can be used to provide sufficient pressure and help form a good bond.
