Replacing a deformed frame can ensure proper screen mounting and prevent damage from uneven pressure.
Prepare an iOpener by applying it to the back cover for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.
Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.
If you have trouble creating a gap, be cautious not to overheat using excessive heat.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Insert another opening pick at the bottom edge.
Use an iOpener to reheat hard-to-cut adhesive.

Insert a fifth opening pick at the top right corner.
Remove the back cover.
Remove the four 3.9mm long Philips screws from the camera cover.
Remove the camera cover.
Remove midscreen screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert the SIM card eject tool, SIM eject bit, or a straightened paper clip into the hole on the SIM tray located at the left edge of the phone.
Disconnect the power and volume button flex cable using a spudger.
Do not apply excessive force, which can damage the components.
Some force may be required to release the tight plastic clips.
Insert an opening pick at the bottom edge and slide it gently along the length.
Use an opening pick to slide along the right edge of the phone, releasing the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick along the top edge of the phone.
This will release the remaining plastic clips.
Ensure the power and volume button flex cable is loose from the motherboard to prevent damage.
Disconnect the battery flex cable using a spudger.
Never jab the battery with sharp tools — risk of chemical leakage and fire.
Grasp the first pull-tab with a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
If the adhesive strip breaks off, retrieve it with your fingers or tweezers and continue – do not pry under the battery.
Repeat the previous pull-tab removal procedure on the second pull-tab.
Do not press down on the battery.
Do not try to forcefully lever the battery out.
Never deform or puncture the battery with your pry tool.
Remove the battery.
Do not reinstall a damaged or deformed battery — risk of safety hazard.
During reassembly, temporarily reconnect battery to motherboard for alignment. Disconnect after seating in place.
Disconnect the display flex cable using a spudger. Prying the connector straight up from its socket will release it.
Insert an opening pick under the display flex cable
Insert an opening pick into the gap between the front panel assembly and the loudspeaker at the top edge of the speaker.
Disconnect the digitizer flex cable using a spudger. Pry the connector straight up from its socket.
To avoid overheating, use a heat source with caution.
Allow the screen to warm up by touching it lightly.
Be cautious when using superglue, as it can be difficult to remove once dry.
Insert an opening pick above the iFlex.
Remove the iFlex.
Adhesive cooled down? Reheat with iOpener or heat gun for 1-2 minutes.
Insert just the tip (about 2-3mm) of an opening pick near the front-facing camera to avoid damage or smearing.
Insert a fifth opening pick and move it along the right edge to separate remaining adhesive.
Do not attempt to fully remove the display yet, as the digitizer cable remains attached.
Ensure cleaning solution is at least 90% isopropyl alcohol before applying it to prevent damage.
