Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Battery Replacement

Discharge the battery below 25% for safety and to prevent thermal damage.

  • Prepare replacement adhesive for reassembly.
  • If your battery is swollen, take precautions before proceeding.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.

Use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution - overheat risk damaging phone display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the back cover, as close as possible.

If the back cover is cracked, it may not stick; use strong tape or superglue and allow to cure before proceeding.

  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle, creating a small gap between the back cover and frame.
  • If no gap forms, apply more heat to soften the adhesive further; refer to iOpener instructions for safe use.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner, slicing the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

  • Insert another opening pick at the phone's bottom edge.
  • Guide this new pick towards the bottom left corner to break the adhesive seal.

If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, it has likely cooled down.

  • Reheat the adhesive with your iOpener.
  • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner of your phone.
  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing.

Clean the area with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90%) before applying new adhesive.

  • Apply new adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape to secure the rear glass.
  • Place phone under a stack of heavy books and apply strong, steady pressure for several minutes to aid bonding.

Be cautious when handling the battery — risk of puncture and chemical release.

  • Use blunt nose tweezers or a clean fingernail to gently pry up both battery adhesive pull-tabs.

Step 22 | Remove the pull-tabs

Step 22 image
Thumbnail 1
Thumbnail 2
Thumbnail 3

Grasp the first pull-tab with a tweezers or your fingers.

  • Pull slowly away from the battery towards the top edge of your phone, maintaining tension on the strip.
  • Do not press down on the battery; instead, hold the phone firmly by its sides.
  • Keep the strip flat and unwrinkled while pulling evenly along the whole length.

If the adhesive breaks off underneath the battery, do not pry under it. Continue with the next step if retrieval is impossible.

Step 23

Step 23 image

Thumbnail 3

Repeat the pull-tab removal procedure for the second tab.

  • Follow the same procedure as before: keep the strip flat and unwrinkled, and pull at a low angle to avoid pressing down on the battery.

If adhesive breaks off underneath the battery and can't be retrieved, apply 2-3 drops of high concentration (over 90%) isopropyl alcohol under the edge of the battery where the broken strip(s) are located.

  • Wait about one minute for the alcohol solution to weaken the adhesive.

Gently lift the battery using the flat end of a spudger, without applying force or leverage that could deform or puncture the battery. If needed, apply additional drops of alcohol to further weaken the adhesive.

Step 24 | Remove the battery

Step 24 image

Never reinstall a damaged or deformed battery — potential safety hazard.

  • Remove the old battery.
  • Wipe off any remaining alcohol solution or let it air dry before installing your new battery.

Secure the new battery with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape, applying it in original positions, not directly onto the battery.

  • Press the new battery firmly into place.
  • Temporarily reconnect the battery to the motherboard for alignment. Disconnect after seating the battery.
