Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G Back Cover Replacement

This repair requires a new adhesive for reassembly.

  • This guide is for replacing a damaged back cover on Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G models only.
  • To reattach components, you'll need to apply the replacement adhesive as described in this repair.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.

  • The iOpener should be applied directly to the back cover.
  • Alternative heat sources include a hair dryer, heat gun or hot plate.
  • Be careful not to overheat the phone as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the back cover, as close to the edge as possible.

If the back cover is cracked, the suction handle may not stick. To secure it:

  • Lift the back cover with strong tape.
  • Apply superglue to the suction handle and allow it to cure.

Lift the back cover with the suction handle, creating a small gap between the cover and frame.

  • If necessary, apply more heat to soften the adhesive (follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating).
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

  • Insert an additional opening pick near the bottom edge.
  • Position the new pick at the bottom left corner and carefully slice through the adhesive.
  • Do not remove the opening picks while repairing — risk of resealed adhesive.

Step 4 | Slice the adhesive

If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, it may have cooled down.

  • Reheat the adhesive using your iOpener.
  • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner of the phone.
  • Slide the pick along the left edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing.

  • Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the rear glass to ensure a good bond.
