This guide is for removing and replacing parts on the Xiaomi Redmi 2 screen assembly, including repairs and replacements.
Remove the back panel using the flat end of a spudger.
Locate the curved mid-frame opening.
Insert spudger between mid-frame and front body.
Remove the 3.4 mm Phillips #000 screw holding the motherboard to the front body.
Hold the tweezers firmly and use one prong to carefully pry back the brown clip covering the LCD ribbon connector.
Use the tweezers to carefully pry the ribbon clip loose with one prong.
Use your fingers to lift and hinge the motherboard.
Use the tweezers to carefully pry back the metal clip covering the front proximity sensor ribbon connector with one of its prongs.
Remove the motherboard from the front cover and place it to one side.
Use a nylon or metal spudger to carefully pry the front speaker away from the screen assembly.
Use your fingers to carefully lift the front speaker away from the screen assembly.
Remove the 2.9 mm Phillips #000 screw holding the PCB circuit board to the screen assembly.
Use tweezers to carefully lift the antenna connector off the PCB circuit board.
Do not remove the PCB circuit board at this time.
Use a nylon or metal spudger to pry open the silver clip over the ribbon connector.
