Xiaomi Redmi 2 Motherboard Replacement

Remove the back panel with the flat end of a spudger.

Locate the curved opening in the mid-frame.

  • Insert a finger into the opening to access the internal components.
  • Lift out the battery.

Step 3

Remove any installed SIM and memory cards.

  • Take out twelve Phillips #000 screws, each with a length of 3.4 mm.

Insert the spudger between the mid-frame and front body.

  • Gradually pry the two bodies apart by sliding the spudger along the perimeter.

Remove the 3.4 mm Phillips #000 screw holding the motherboard to the front body.

This screw is separate from the 12 initially removed screws.

Use the tweezers to pry back the brown clip on top of the LCD ribbon connector

Step 7

Use one prong of the tweezers to gently pry the ribbon clip loose from the motherboard.

Use your fingers to lift and hinge the motherboard.

Use one tweezers prong to gently lift and pry back the metal clip covering the front proximity sensor ribbon connector.

Remove the antenna connector from the motherboard using the tweezers.

Step 11

Remove the motherboard from the front cover and place it to one side.
