This guide is for removing the Ambient Light Sensor from a Xiaomi Redmi 2, suitable for both repair and replacement purposes.
Remove the back panel from the mid-frame and front body using the flat end of a spudger.
Insert your finger into the curved opening of the mid-frame.
Insert spudger between mid-frame and front body.
Remove the 3.4 mm Phillips #000 screw holding the motherboard to the front body.
Note: This screw is separate from the initial dozen.
Use one tweezers prong to pry back the brown clip on top of the LCD ribbon connector.
Use a tweezers to carefully pry the ribbon clip away from the motherboard.
Using your fingers, carefully lift and hinge the motherboard.
Lift and pry back the metal clip covering the front proximity sensor ribbon connector using one prong of the tweezers.
Use tweezers to carefully remove the antenna connector from the motherboard.
Remove the motherboard from the front cover.
Use one prong of the tweezers to carefully lift and loosen the edge of the ambient light sensor from the motherboard.
Use your fingers to carefully pull out the ambient light sensor.
