Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G USB C Port Replacement

The entire subboard needs to be replaced.

Step 1 | Removing Back Panel

Shutdown the device.

Remove the SIM card using a SIM eject tool or a bent paperclip to avoid damaging the SIM eject hole.

  • Apply a suction cup to the left side of the back panel, just below the power button.
  • Insert the Opening Tool into the gap between the glass and frame, as shown in the picture.
  • Gently turn the tool counterclockwise to lift the back panel away from the adhesive.

If the adhesive is too strong, use a hair dryer or hot air gun to heat the area carefully, or insert the Jimmy approximately 5 mm to cut through the tape.

Remove any remaining adhesive from both the phone and back panel once separated.

Step 2 | Remove the screws

Place phone screen down

  • Remove 10 Phillips #00 screws from top half.
  • Remove 8 Phillips #00 screws from bottom half.

Screws may be covered by warranty seals, which can appear in various locations, marked on device for identification.

Step 3 | Removing The Frame

Careful handling required to avoid damaging the screen assembly or mainboard.

  • Insert the Opening Tool between the screen and frame below the power button, following the green arrows.
  • Avoid inserting the tool between the glass and plastic screen guard, indicated by the red arrow.

Be cautious near buttons and ribbon cables to prevent damage.

  • Work around the long sides of the frame in a counterclockwise direction to release multiple clips.
  • If necessary, use opening picks to help disengage stubborn clips.

Use opening picks between the frame and screen to prevent accidental reengagement of clips.

  • Once all clips are released, carefully turn the frame to the left side, taking care with the ribbon cable.

Step 4 | Disconnect the Ribbon Cables

  • Remove the ribbon cable connecting the buttons to the phone.
  • Lift it up from the right side, avoiding the lowest camera.
    • Disconnect the two ribbon cables attached to the battery.
  • Release the remaining ribbon cable connected to the USB subboard.

Step 5 | Removing Speaker and USB Subboard

Disconnect the black and white antenna cables.

Be careful lifting the speaker with a spudger.

  • It may be necessary to disconnect the clip at the top right corner of the speaker.
  • Replace the damaged USB subboard with a new one, ensuring correct orientation and secure fastening.
