Xiaomi Mi A2 Screen Replacement

  • Replace the LCD panel (screen) if it is cracked or malfunctioning, following this repair guide.

If your screen is shattered, reinforce it with a protective film to prevent injury until you replace the display.

  • The replacement part comes pre-assembled with the earpiece speaker and LCD shield plate.
  • Power off your phone completely and disconnect from any external power source before starting the repair.

Turn off your phone.

  • Remove the SIM card tray.
  • Ground yourself by touching a metal object, such as a tap or a door handle.

Remove the two 2.7mm Pentalobe #2 screws from the bottom of the phone.

Attach a suction cup tool near the phone's bottom.

  • Pull up on the suction cup to lift the LCD Panel slightly.
  • Start at the bottom and slide a plastic opening tool between the LCD and phone, working your way around to unhook clips.

Be careful not to snag the ribbon cable with the opening tool.

Lay the screen face down and flip it towards the bottom of the device.

Bending or folding the ribbon cable excessively may cause permanent damage.

  • Take out the 3 x 2.4mm Philips #0 screws to loosen the panel.
  • Remove the metal bracket for access to the ribbon cable connectors.
  • Carefully disconnect and replace the ribbon cable.

Remove the battery connector using a plastic spudger and lift it off carefully.

  • Get underneath the battery connector ribbon cable and gently lift it off.
  • Use a plastic spudger to remove the screen connector ribbon cable from underneath.

The panel should now be free to remove and replace.
