Make sure the battery is discharged below 25% to avoid fire or explosion risk when handling it.
If your battery is swollen, take necessary precautions to avoid damage or risk of explosion.
Prepare an iOpener by applying it to the rear glass for at least two minutes.
Use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution: excessive heat can damage the display and internal battery.
Attach a suction handle to the rear glass's lower edge, as close as possible.
If the glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick – try securing it with strong tape or superglue and let it cure.
Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
Insert another opening pick at the phone's bottom edge.
Reheat the adhesive with the iOpener for 1-2 minutes if it's hard to cut.
Insert the opening pick under the top left corner.
Be cautious not to apply excessive force.
Do not attempt to remove the rear glass completely yet, as it may still be adhered due to camera area adhesive.
Insert a plastic card at the right edge of the phone, near the rear camera.
The rear glass may stick to the rear camera adhesive. If so, carefully continue with this step.
Remove the rear glass.
Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the rear glass.
Remove the motherboard cover by unscrewing the twelve Phillips head screws.
Insert the opening pick under the left edge of the motherboard cover.
Remove the motherboard cover using a pair of tweezers or your fingers.
Disconnect the battery connector by prying it straight up with a spudger.
Insert opening pick into the gap between top edge of loudspeaker assembly and battery.
Remove the loudspeaker assembly.
Remove the tweezers and use them to gently pull the sticker off the interconnect cable.
Use a tool (such as an opening pick) to gently pry the display cable away from the midframe, working carefully to avoid damaging any components.
Careful not to overheat the device.
Make sure the screen is warm to the touch for easier removal.
Apply heat to the adhesive for 1-2 minutes using your iOpener or heat gun.
Insert a fourth opening pick into the top left corner of the screen.
Slide an additional opening pick along the right edge to slice remaining adhesive.
Do not attempt to fully remove the display as the display cable remains secured in the frame.
Thread the display flex cable through the gap in the midframe and remove the screen.
Make sure to carefully handle and transfer sensitive components during reassembly.
