This repair guide is for replacing a broken rear glass panel on the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. Ensure you have replacement adhesive before starting, as it's necessary for reattaching parts during reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution to prevent overheating, which can damage the display or internal battery.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes.
  • Apply heat using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but avoid overheating the phone.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Attach a suction handle near the rear glass's edge, as close as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, try securing it with strong tape or superglueing the suction handle in place and letting it cure before proceeding.
  • Lift the rear glass using the suction handle to create a gap between the back cover and frame.

Be cautious not to overheat, following iOpener instructions.

  • If necessary, apply more heat to further soften adhesive.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the pick to the bottom right corner and slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive
