Xiaomi Mi 9 Rear Glass Replacement

Switch off your phone.

• Apply a heated iOpener to the rear glass and let it sit for at least two minutes.

Attach a suction handle to the lower rear glass edge, as close as possible.

If the glass is cracked, use strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle.

• Lift the rear glass using the suction handle, creating a gap between the glass and frame.
• Insert an opening pick into the gap.

Apply more heat if needed, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Slide the pick to the bottom right corner of the phone.

Insert a second opening pick at the bottom left corner.

• Slide it towards the center to begin cutting the adhesive.
• Leave both opening picks in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.

• Slide the opening pick along the side of the device, starting from the bottom left corner.

• Avoid damaging the rear cameras; only insert the tip of the opening pick.

• As the adhesive cools, it may become harder to cut. If necessary, reheat with an iOpener.

Leave the third opening pick in place at the top left corner to prevent resealing.

Insert the opening pick into the top left corner of the rear glass.

• Slide the opening pick along the top edge to cut the adhesive.
• Leave it in the top right corner to prevent resealing.

• Insert a fifth opening pick into the top right corner.
• Guide it along the right edge to break any remaining adhesive.

Remove the rear glass by lifting carefully.

• Take out any leftover adhesive before putting in new glue.
• Clean the stuck parts with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.
