Xiaomi Mi 9 Loudspeaker Unit Replacement

This guide will help you repair or replace a faulty loudspeaker unit on your Xiaomi Mi 9. To complete this task, you'll require new adhesive for reattaching components during reassembly.

Step 1 | Rear Glass

Step 1 image

Switch off your phone.

  • Heat the iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive beneath the edges.

Step 2

Attach a suction handle to the lower edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, use strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle and let it cure before proceeding.

Use the suction handle to lift the rear glass and create a gap between the glass and the frame.

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap.
  • If needed, apply more heat as per iOpener instructions to further soften the adhesive, but avoid overheating.

The suction handle may not stick if the rear glass is cracked; use tape or superglue in this case.
