Reusing a deformed or bent battery is a potential safety hazard, replace it with a new one if necessary.
Switch off your device.
Secure a suction handle to the lower edge of the rear glass.
If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick — try using strong tape or superglue instead.
If necessary, apply more heat to soften the adhesive — follow iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.
Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner of the phone.
Slide another opening pick to the lower left corner to cut the adhesive.
Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
Be aware of the rear cameras and only insert the tip of the opening pick.
Leave one opening pick in the top left corner to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
Insert pick into top left corner.
Remove the rear glass carefully.
Remove all 10 Phillips #00 screws, approximately 3mm in length.
Remove motherboard cover, taking care to preserve NFC antenna and charging coil.
Use a spudger to gently pry up and disconnect the battery flex cable.
Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the loudspeaker unit:
Some screws may be hidden beneath tamper proof stickers.
Insert an opening pick on the right side of the loudspeaker unit.
The antenna cable remains attached to the back of the unit.
Disconnect any remaining antenna cables from the unit.
Before reassembly, inspect your old loudspeaker for components that may need to be transferred to the new part.
Remove the black ends of the adhesive tabs using a pair of tweezers.
Use a pair of tweezers to slowly and steadily pull out the left adhesive tab from underneath the battery, maintaining a flat angle.
Be careful not to rip the adhesive tab, which can easily tear. To minimize this risk, try twisting the strip around the tweezers.
Remove the right adhesive tab by pulling it out with a pair of tweezers.
Insert an opening pick into the battery's recess and gently pry it loose.
Risk of explosion or fire if using a deformed or bent battery.
Be gentle when handling the display flex cable as it may be attached with mild adhesive.
Apply a heated iOpener to the display for two minutes to loosen the adhesive.
Use a cloth to stabilize the phone over the camera bump.
Reapply the removal process to the left corner of the speaker recess.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent adhesive resealing.
Slide the long edge of the first opening pick around the top right corner and along the right edge of the phone.
Apply more heat if the adhesive becomes hard to cut.
Insert a fourth opening pick at the top left corner of the display panel.
Slowly separate the screen from the frame, cutting any remaining adhesive.
Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to clean the midframe, removing any remaining adhesive.
