Mi 8 Explorer Battery Replacement
This guide is for replacing the battery in a Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer phone.
- The nearest online guide available was for the Pro version, which has some differences from the Explorer model.

Step 1 | Battery
Heat the glue to soften it.
- Use picks to cut through the softened glue.
- To access the area, use a suction cup with gentle pressure in combination with a Halberd spudger.
Step 2
Remove the Pentalobe P2 screws using a screwdriver.
- There are nine Pentalobe P2 screws in total.
- Use a spudger to carefully pry off the plastic back plate.
Be mindful of the NFC Module, as it does not detach from the plate and is best left connected.
Step 3
Remove the battery sticker by unclipping the battery connector.
Step 4
Remove the battery.
- I removed it without glue tabs present.
- Use a mix of a Halberd Spudger and a plastic card for removal.
Check the replacement battery's compatibility before installation.
- Insert the new battery.
- Test the phone to verify the repair's success.
