Xiaomi Mi 4 Rear Case/Midframe Replacement
The Xiaomi Mi 4 back cover must be removed with care, as it houses sensitive internal components.
- Locate and remove all visible screws holding the back cover in place.
- Gently pry the back cover away from the phone using a plastic spudger.
Step 1 | Rear Case/Midframe
Ensure the device is powered down.
- Insert a pin or paper clip into the hole on the side of the phone, next to the micro SIM card holder, to eject the tray.
- Remove the SIM card tray from your Xiaomi Mi 4 and store it in a safe location.
Step 2
Use a flat metal spudger and a curved metal spudger to create a wedge between the plastic back cover and the inner frame.
- Slowly work your way around the device's perimeter with the curved spudger, listening for clicking sounds as you pry the back cover away from the frame.
- As the back cover is almost removed, use a suction-cup tool to finish removing it without damaging the back.
Step 3
Remove the 10 1.2mm Phillips head screws from the plastic frame using a 000 Phillips head screwdriver.
- Next, remove the 3 0.5mm Phillips head screws from the plastic frame.
- Insert the small plastic opening tool into the slot on the bottom right corner of the inner frame and pry it off carefully.
