Xiaomi Mi 3 Phone Vibrator Replacement

Step 1 | Battery

Press firmly on the SIM card removal tool into the top hole.

  • The SIM card tray will be ejected from its slot.

Disregard any stickers, including those that may be considered warranty markers.

  • Remove two Phillips head screws at the top of the phone, one on each side of the SIM card ejector.
  • The screw under the orange sticker is also a Phillips head screw.

Careful not to damage the screen or other internal components.

  • Insert a pry tool into the upper edge gap between the screen and frame.
  • Gently begin separating the screen from the rest of the phone.

Careful handling is required when using a pry tool to prevent damage.

  • Insert the pry tool into the phone and slide it around the perimeter.
  • Gently lift while sliding until the screen panel and back panel separate.

The rear cover and display assembly are now separated.

Place the front panel, screen facing down, ensuring the camera is at the top.

  • Remove six Phillips head screws located on the upper half of the phone.
  • Under an orange sticker at the top right corner of the panel, there's a screw. Remove the sticker with tweezers, then remove the screw using a Phillips head driver.

Remove the screws at the bottom of the back panel.

Use tweezers to remove the rubber dust cover from the back panel.

Insert the pry tool into the edge of the back panel's plastic cover, then lift gently.

Insert a pry tool into the upper edge of the back panel and gently lift the upper plastic cover.

  • Check if your model has the NFC antenna glued to the top cover by consulting the touchscreen guide.
  • If it does, remove the battery before proceeding with the removal of the top cover.

Disconnect the small ribbon cable from the battery using a spudger.

Some force may be required, as the battery is held by double-sided tape and may stick to the back panel.

  • Locate the Battery Removal tab on the left side of the battery.
  • Grip the tab firmly and pull upwards to remove the battery.

The battery has been successfully removed.

Use a pry tool to disconnect the antenna wire from its attachment point on the lower left side of the motherboard.

Locate the LCD display cable on the motherboard, identifying it by its rectangular metallic connector located at the bottom right.

  • Use a pry tool to gently separate the LCD display cable from the motherboard.

Insert the pry tool under the wide end of the gold ribbon cable, then lift it up to disconnect.

Insert a pry tool into the gap between the motherboard and the metal bracket at the top right, then lift to separate.

  • Gently slide the cable ribbon away from the motherboard while still secure.

Locate the cable ribbon near the top right of the motherboard, close to where you disconnected a cable in the last step.

Gently insert the pry tool under the rectangular metallic piece and lift it up to release the cable ribbon.

Use a pry tool to carefully lift the side control buttons assembly from the case.

  • The assembly is loosely connected to the motherboard.

Remove the two screws.

Careful lifting to avoid damage to the panel or surrounding components.

  • Position the pry tool at the top edge of the panel.
  • Lift the panel upwards from that side, starting with a gentle pry motion.

Remove the vibrator with tweezers.
