This repair may require transferring components from the old screen, including the backplate and small parts.
Disconnect power to the device by removing Pentalobe screws.
Insert the opening pick into the middle of the phone, as shown in the second image.
Be cautious not to insert the opening pick too far, which could damage the ribbon cable inside.
Do not remove the screen yet – it's still attached by a ribbon cable.
Remove the 3 PH00 screws from the battery holder plate.
Remove the battery ribbon cable
This will prevent accidental phone activation.
Next, remove the LCD ribbon cable
Use a fingernail or spudger to remove it straight out of its socket (circled green).
Screen removal complete.
