Mi 11 Screen Replacement

Make sure you have the correct screen replacement part, as some come pre-installed in a new frame (chassis), requiring a different procedure.

  • Carefully inspect the phone's frame for deformation. If damaged, replace it to ensure proper fit and prevent uneven pressure damage to the new screen.
  • Acquire replacement adhesives for both the back panel and screen before proceeding.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Risk of thermal shock: do not apply excessive heat.

  • Use an iOpener to heat the rear glass for at least two minutes, loosening the adhesive underneath.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge, as close as possible.

If the rear glass is cracked, it may not stick — try lifting with strong tape or superglue and allow to cure.

  • Lift the back cover using the suction handle to create a small gap between the cover and frame.
  • If trouble persists, apply more heat to soften adhesive, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

  • Clean affected areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and apply new adhesive as needed.
  • Secure the new rear glass using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Apply strong, steady pressure to the phone for several minutes after installation to ensure adhesive bonding.

    • A stack of heavy books can be used to apply adequate pressure.

Step 8 | Unfasten the metal bracket screws
