Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite Rear Glass Panel Replacement
Reassembly without new adhesive seals may compromise water resistance
- Use this guide to replace a broken rear glass panel on your Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite.
- Reattach components using replacement adhesive.
Step 1 | Heat the rear glass
Apply iOpener to rear glass for 2+ minutes.
Avoid overheating: use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution, as excessive heat can damage the display and internal battery.
Step 2 | Create a gap
Secure a suction handle along the right edge of the rear glass, as close as possible.
- If the rear glass is cracked, try lifting with strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure.
- Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the rear glass and frame.
If you encounter difficulty creating a gap, apply more heat to soften the adhesive. Follow iOpener instructions carefully to avoid overheating.
- Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
- Slide the opening pick to the top right corner to slice the adhesive.
Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
Step 3 | Slice the adhesive
Insert a second opening pick under the top right corner.
- Slide it down the right edge to cut the adhesive.
- Leave it in the bottom right corner to stop the adhesive from resealing.
Step 4
Reapply heat with the iOpener for 1-2 minutes if adhesive is hard to cut.
- Insert a third opening pick at bottom right corner.
- Slide opening pick along bottom edge to slice adhesive.
- Leave pick in bottom left corner to prevent resealing.
Step 5
Insert opening pick at bottom left corner of phone.
- Slide opening pick along left edge to slice adhesive.
- Leave opening pick in top left corner to prevent resealing.
Step 6
Insert a fifth opening pick under the top left corner.
- Slide it along the top edge of the rear glass to cut through the remaining adhesive.
Step 7 | Remove the rear glass
Remove the rear glass.
- Rear Glass Adhesive: Apply pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.
- Press phone firmly for 5 minutes to secure bond. Use a stack of heavy books if needed.
