Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite Battery Replacement

Do not attempt to replace a swollen battery without proper precautions.

  • Discharge your battery below 25% before disassembly.
  • This reduces the risk of a thermal event if the battery is damaged during repair.

You will need replacement adhesive for reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Risk of overheating: exercise caution with heat sources.

  • Apply an iOpener to the rear glass for at least two minutes, loosening adhesive underneath.
  • Alternative methods include a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.

Do not overheat the phone; display and internal battery are susceptible to damage.

Step 2 | Create a gap

Secure a suction handle along the right edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, use strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.
  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the rear glass and the frame.

If you experience difficulty creating a gap, apply more heat while following the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick to the top right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

  • Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave one opening pick in the bottom left corner to prevent resealing.

Remove the rear glass.

  • Secure with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.
  • Apply pressure to the phone for several minutes to form a strong bond. A stack of heavy books can be used for this purpose.

Step 8 | Unfasten the motherboard cover screws

Step 8 image

Remove the motherboard cover using a Phillips screwdriver.

  • There are eleven screws in total.
  • The screws have a length of 3.4 mm.
  • The screws secure the motherboard cover in place.

  • Press the new battery firmly into place.
