Xiaomi Mi 10 Rear Glass Replacement
This repair requires replacement adhesive for reattaching components upon reassembly.
Step 1 | Heat the rear glass
Switch off your phone.
- Apply an iOpener heated by a power source, placing it on the back of the phone to loosen the adhesive beneath the back cover.
- Leave the iOpener in place for at least two minutes.
Step 2 | Insert the iFlex
Secure a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge.
- If the rear glass is cracked, try using strong tape or superglue to secure the suction handle.
Use the suction handle to lift the rear glass and create a small gap between it and the frame.
Be cautious: the Xiaomi Mi 10's rear glass may sit tightly in place, requiring an iFlex for insertion.
- Insert the iFlex into the created gap to leave space for an opening pick.
- Leave the iFlex in place to prevent adhesive resealing.
Step 3 | Begin to slice the adhesive
Insert an opening pick into the gap.
- Slide it to the bottom right corner.
- Remove the iFlex at this point.
Step 4 | Slice the bottom edge adhesive
- Insert a second opening pick and guide it to the bottom left corner, cutting the adhesive.
- Leave both opening picks in place to maintain access and prevent adhesive reseal.
Step 5 | Slice the lefthand-side adhesive
- Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left corner.
- Slide the tip of the opening pick along the side towards the top, cutting the adhesive as you go.
Leave the pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.
Step 6 | Slice the top edge adhesive
If the adhesive becomes hard to cut, it has likely cooled down.
- Reheat the adhesive with your iOpener.
- Insert a fourth opening pick under the top left corner of the rear glass.
- Slide the opening pick along the top edge to cut the adhesive.
- Leave the opening pick in the top right corner to prevent resealing.
Step 7 | Slice the righthand-side adhesive
Insert a fifth opening pick at the top right corner of the phone.
- Slide the opening pick along the right side to cut the remaining adhesive.
Step 8 | Remove the rear glass
Power off the device before continuing.
- Remove the rear glass.
- Power on the device for functional testing during reassembly.
- Ensure the phone is powered down completely before proceeding further.
