Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Screen Replacement

Risk of explosion or fire if battery is not fully discharged.

  • Discharge battery below 25% before disassembly.

Ensure correct part replacement (screen only, with original frame and motherboard intact). Some replacement screens come pre-installed in a new frame - use the appropriate procedure for your specific part.

  • Prepare replacement adhesive for reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Avoid overheating the phone as it can cause damage to the display and internal battery.

  • Apply an iOpener to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but monitor temperature carefully.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Step 2 image

Secure a suction handle to the bottom edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, try lifting it with strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure.
  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the rear glass and the frame.

In case you have trouble creating a gap, apply more heat to soften the adhesive, following the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the gap created.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Step 3 image

Risk of damage if improper installation occurs.

  • Remove the rear glass.
  • Clean areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and apply new adhesive where needed.
  • Secure the rear glass with pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.
  • Apply strong, steady pressure to phone for several minutes to form a good bond.
  • Use heavy books as weight if necessary.

Step 8 | Unfasten the motherboard cover screws

Do not attempt to remove the daughterboard by pulling it straight up.

  • The USB-C connector is obstructed by the midframe, making this method impossible.
  • Instead, use a pair of blunt nose tweezers or your fingers to carefully pull the daughterboard at a flat angle, towards the battery.

Step 23 | Disconnect the display flex cable

Step 23 image

Be cautious not to overheat the device when using a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.

  • Apply a heated iOpener or a heat gun to the screen for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.
  • Reapply the iOpener as needed due to strong protective adhesive on the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite.

Step 25 | Insert an iFlex

Step 25 image

Apply a suction handle to the bottom edge of the screen once it's warm to touch.

If your screen is badly cracked, cover it with clear packing tape for better suction adhesion or use strong tape instead of the suction handle. Failing these options, superglue the suction cup to the screen.

  • Lift the screen with the suction handle to create a small gap between the screen and frame.
  • Insert an iFlex into the gap between the midframe and the screen.

Step 26 | Insert an opening pick

Step 26 image

Insert an iFixit Opening Pick above the iFlex.

  • Move the opening pick to the bottom right corner of the screen and use it to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 27 | Slice the adhesive

Step 27 image

  • Insert a third opening pick at the bottom left screen corner.
  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge of the screen to slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.
