Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Battery Replacement

Replace swollen batteries with caution and follow proper safety procedures.

  • Discharge the battery below 25% before disassembly for thermal event prevention.
  • Gather replacement adhesive for secure reattachment of components during reassembly.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Risk of heat damage to display and internal battery.

  • Prepare an iOpener and apply it to rear glass for at least two minutes.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate — but be cautious not to overheat the device.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the rear glass's bottom edge, as close as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, try lifting it with strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and let it cure.
  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the glass and frame.

Be careful not to overheat using heat, as instructed by the iOpener manual.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Remove the rear glass.

  • Clean areas as needed with isopropyl alcohol (>90%).
  • Apply new adhesive where necessary.

Incorrect installation may result in damage to your phone or loss of functionality.

Secure the new rear glass using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.

Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes to ensure proper bonding.

A stack of heavy books can be used to apply even pressure.

Do not fold the interconnect flex cable sharply — risk of damage.

  • Fold the interconnect flex cable towards the charging port to access battery pull tabs.
  • Temporarily stick the cable to your work surface using a small piece of tape to prevent accidental damage.

Step 14 | Peel off the battery pull-tabs

Avoid puncturing or bending the battery, as this may cause chemical leakage or a thermal event.

  • Use blunt nose tweezers or a clean fingernail to carefully peel off the orange adhesive strip (A).
  • Repeat the process for the orange adhesive strip (B).

Step 15 | Remove the battery

  • Pull the battery off the remaining adhesive.
  • Remove the battery completely.

Do not reinstall a damaged or deformed battery — potential safety hazard.

  • Temporarily reconnect battery to motherboard during reassembly for proper alignment.
