Pocophone F1 Back Cover Removal

This repair guide is for removing the back cover of a Xiaomi Pocophone F1 device.

Step 1 | Remove the SIM tray

Switch off your phone.

  • SIM eject tool or a paperclip into the small hole on the SIM card tray on the left edge of the phone.
  • Press firmly to eject the tray.
  • Remove the SIM card tray.

Properly orient the cards in the tray when reinserting.

Step 2 | Unfasten the back cover screws

Remove the Torx T3 screws at the bottom edge using a Torx T3 screwdriver.

  • There are two screws, each measuring 2.7 mm long.

Step 3 | Insert an opening tool

Insert a opening tool into the gap between the screen and the back cover at the screen's bottom edge.

  • Slide the opening tool towards the bottom right corner to release the plastic clips holding the back cover in place.

Step 4 | Release the clips

Locate the bottom right corner and slide the opening tool into position.

  • Run the tool along the right edge, releasing the plastic clips that hold the device in place.

Use the opening tool to slide along the top edge of the phone, releasing the plastic clips.

  • The clips hold the back cover in place.

  • Use the opening tool to slide along the left edge of the phone and release the remaining plastic clips.
  • Do not remove the back cover yet, as the flex cable of the fingerprint sensor is still connected to the motherboard.

Avoid bending or straining the fingerprint flex cable — damage can occur.

  • Fold the phone assembly to the left side of the back cover as if opening a book page.
  • Avoid applying tension to the fingerprint flex cable during this process.

Step 8 | Unfasten screws

Remove ten Phillips screws, each 3.2 mm long.

Locate the motherboard cover's bottom left corner.

  • Insert an opening pick under this corner and slide it along the left edge, releasing the plastic clips.
  • Use the opening pick to gently pry up the motherboard cover.

Step 10 | Remove the motherboard cover

Remove the motherboard cover.

Step 11 | Remove the back cover

  • Fingerprint sensor cable must be disconnected first: use the flat end of a spudger.
  • After that, remove the back cover
