Poco X3 Pro Screen Replacement

Deformed frames can cause mounting issues and uneven pressure damage, so replace it with a new one if necessary.

  • Remove the battery due to its design obstructing display cable access.
  • If damaged, replace the battery; reusing it poses a safety hazard.
  • Discharge the battery below 25% before disassembling to prevent accidental puncture and potential fire/explosion.

Some replacement screens come pre-installed in new frames, requiring a different procedure. Ensure you have the correct part before proceeding.

Additional materials needed: replacement adhesive for reassembling components.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes.

  • The adhesive underneath should loosen during this time.
  • If needed, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate instead. Be cautious not to overheat the phone as it may cause heat damage to the display and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Step 2 image

Secure a suction handle to the back cover's bottom edge, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the back cover is cracked, use strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.
  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the cover and frame.

If trouble creating a gap arises, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Step 3 image
