Poco X3 Pro Back Cover Replacement

Replace a damaged or broken back cover using this guide for your Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro. Reassembly will require replacement adhesive.

Step 1 | Heat the back cover

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the back cover for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath.

  • An alternative method is to use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate.
  • Be careful not to overheat the phone, as the display and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the back cover's edge, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the back cover is cracked, try lifting it with strong tape or use superglue to secure the suction handle in place.
  • Lift the back cover with the suction handle to create a small gap between the cover and frame.

Apply more heat if necessary to soften the adhesive, following iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.
  • Slide the opening pick to the bottom right corner to slice the adhesive.

Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Reheat the adhesive with the iOpener for 1-2 minutes if it becomes difficult to cut.

  • Do not remove the existing opening picks yet — they help prevent reseal.

  • Insert a new opening pick at the bottom left corner of your phone.
  • Slide this new opening pick along the left edge to cut through more adhesive.
