This repair guide is for replacing the fingerprint sensor in a Xiaomi Poco M3 device.
Risk of damaging internal components if the SIM card tray gasket is damaged or missing.
When reinserting the SIM card, ensure it's properly oriented inside the tray to prevent damage.
Do not insert the spudger in a flat angle, as this can damage the charging port.
Insert an opening pick into the gap between the phone assembly and the back cover.
Slide an opening pick to the bottom left corner and gently pry the clips.
Insert an opening pick into the left edge of the Poco M3 and slide it along the edge to release the plastic clips.
Slide the opening pick around the top right corner to release the plastic clips.
Insert another opening pick into the gap at the bottom edge.
Remove the opening picks.
Avoid pulling on the fingerprint flex cable, as tension can damage it.
Remove the screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver. There are ten screws in total, each requiring a length of 3.9 mm.
Insert an opening pick under the bottom right corner of the motherboard cover.
Remove motherboard cover.
Disconnect the fingerprint sensor cable using the flat end of a spudger at the bottom left corner of the motherboard.
Avoid scratching or damaging the fingerprint sensor ribbon cable and be careful not to pierce the fingerprint sensor rubber gasket.
Use tweezers to carefully lift the fingerprint sensor rubber gasket from its position over the bottom plastic pin.
