Xiaomi Poco F3 Screen Replacement

Precautions: If battery is swollen, take necessary precautions; discharge below 25% before disassembly to prevent thermal event.

  • Verify you have the correct replacement screen (note: some screens come pre-installed in a new frame).
  • Ensure replacement adhesive is available for this repair.

If frame is deformed, it must be replaced to ensure proper mounting of new screen and prevent damage from uneven pressure.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener by heating it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Apply the iOpener to the rear glass for at least two minutes to loosen the adhesive underneath, taking care not to overheat the phone.

  • As an alternative, use a hair dryer on low heat or a heat gun at a safe distance from the device.
  • A hot plate may also be used, but keep it away from direct contact with the screen and internal battery components.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Step 2 image

Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the rear glass as close to the edge as possible.

If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick — try lifting it with strong tape or superglue in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.

  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the rear glass and the frame.
  • In case of trouble, apply more heat to further soften the adhesive. Be careful not to overheat by following the iOpener instructions.
  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Step 3 image

  • Slide the opening pick to the top right corner and slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from resealing.

Reheat the adhesive for 1-2 minutes with the iOpener.

  • iSclack or similar tool, insert at bottom right corner.
  • Slide the tool along the phone's bottom edge to cut adhesive.
  • iSclack in place, avoid re-sealing adhesive.

Insert a fourth opening pick in the bottom left corner of your phone.

  • Slide the opening pick along the left edge to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in the top left corner to prevent resealing.
  • Be cautious not to damage the button cables, which are also glued and may be caught inadvertently while cutting through the glue.

  • Position a new opening pick at the top left corner.

  • Work the opening pick along the top edge of the rear glass, slicing any remaining adhesive.

Step 8 | Remove the rear glass

Step 8 image

Remove the rear glass.

  • Clean affected areas with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90% concentration) before reapplying adhesive.
  • Secure new rear glass using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided tape.
  • Apply steady, strong pressure to the phone for several minutes after installation to ensure proper adhesion.

Using a stack of heavy books can aid in forming a good bond between the glass and the adhesive.
