Xiaomi Poco F3 Rear Glass Replacement

This repair requires replacement adhesive for a successful completion.

  • Follow this guide to replace the rear glass on your Xiaomi Poco F3.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes.

  • Wait for the adhesive underneath to loosen.

Use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate with caution - overheat risks damaging the screen and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the rear glass, as close to the edge as possible.

  • If the rear glass is cracked, try lifting it with strong tape or superglue the suction handle in place and allow it to cure before proceeding.
  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the rear glass and the frame.
  • In case of trouble creating a gap, apply more heat, following the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

Insert the opening pick into the top right corner and slide it down slightly to cut the adhesive.

  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent the adhesive from reforming.

  • Insert a second opening pick into the top right corner.
  • Use the second pick to slide across and reach the bottom right corner, slicing the adhesive.
  • Leave the opening pick in place to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Check if the adhesive has cooled down.

  • Reheat the adhesive with an iOpener for 1-2 minutes.
  • Insert a third opening pick in the bottom right corner.
  • Slide the opening pick along the bottom edge to slice the adhesive.

Leave the pick in the bottom left corner to prevent resealing of the adhesive.

Insert a pick at the bottom left of your phone.

  • Slide the pick along the left edge to cut adhesive.
  • Leave the pick in the top left corner to hold open the adhesive.
  • Careful not to damage button cables, as they are also glued and can be caught while cutting through glue.

  • Place the fifth opening pick at the top left corner.
  • Slide it along the top edge of the rear glass to break the remaining adhesive.

Step 8 | Remove the rear glass

Remove the rear glass.

  • Clean relevant areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) and reapply new adhesive as needed.
  • Secure the new rear glass using either pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.
  • Apply firm, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installing the rear glass to ensure a strong bond.

  • A stack of heavy books can be used as additional weight to aid in the bonding process.
