Discharge the battery below 25% and take precautions if the battery is swollen, as a short circuit can cause a fire.
Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes.
Avoid overheating, as this may damage the screen and internal battery.
If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick.
Apply more heat if necessary, but be cautious not to overheat; follow iOpener instructions for safe use.
Reheat the adhesive with an iOpener for 1-2 minutes if it becomes hard to cut.
Insert a fourth opening pick into the bottom left corner of your phone.
Careful not to damage button cables, which are also glued and may be accidentally caught while cutting through the adhesive.
Remove the rear glass.
Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installation, as a stack of heavy books can provide additional support.
Do not fully remove the motherboard cover at this step.
Use your fingers to lift up the motherboard cover.
Careful: graphite foil covers the battery connector.
Use a spudger to carefully lift the interconnect cable out of its socket.
Reposition the interconnect cable toward the bottom of the phone, keeping it out of the way of the battery.
Be careful not to crease the cable.
Peel the orange sticker A and orange sticker B off the battery using your fingers.
Careful: softening the adhesive may damage the screen or compromise its waterproofing.
If removal is difficult, apply a heated iOpener to the screen for at least two minutes or use a heat gun to soften the adhesive beneath the battery.
Do not reuse the removed battery as this poses a safety hazard.
