Poco F3 Battery Replacement

Discharge the battery below 25% and take precautions if the battery is swollen, as a short circuit can cause a fire.

  • Replace the worn-out or dead battery with a new one, using replacement adhesive to secure it in place.

Step 1 | Heat the rear glass

Step 1 image

Prepare an iOpener and apply it to the rear glass for at least two minutes.

  • The iOpener can loosen the adhesive underneath.
  • Alternatively, use a hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate, but be careful not to overheat the phone.

Avoid overheating, as this may damage the screen and internal battery.

Step 2 | Insert an opening pick

If the rear glass is cracked, the suction handle may not stick.

  • Secure a suction handle to the right edge of the rear glass as close to the edge as possible.
  • Lift the rear glass with the suction handle to create a small gap between the rear glass and the frame.
  • Apply more heat if necessary, but be cautious not to overheat; follow iOpener instructions for safe use.

  • Insert an opening pick into the created gap.

Step 3 | Slice the adhesive

  • Insert an additional opening pick at the top right corner.
  • Moon Pick: Slide this tool down to the bottom right corner, applying gentle pressure to slice the adhesive.
  • Leave the Moon Pick in place; do not remove it, as this may cause the adhesive to reseal.

Reheat the adhesive with an iOpener for 1-2 minutes if it becomes hard to cut.

  • Insert a third opening pick into the bottom right corner.

Remove the rear glass.

  • Clean areas with isopropyl alcohol (>90%) before applying new adhesive.
  • Secure the new rear glass using pre-cut adhesive or double-sided adhesive tape.

Apply strong, steady pressure to your phone for several minutes after installation, as a stack of heavy books can provide additional support.

Careful: softening the adhesive may damage the screen or compromise its waterproofing.

  • Grab both ends of the orange sticker labeled "A".
  • Pull the ends straight up to lift the battery out of its recess.

If removal is difficult, apply a heated iOpener to the screen for at least two minutes or use a heat gun to soften the adhesive beneath the battery.

Step 17 | Remove the battery

Step 17 image

Do not reuse the removed battery as this poses a safety hazard.

  • Remove the battery.
  • Dispose of the old battery and replace it with a new one.
  • If the old adhesive tape is still sticky, you can reuse it.
  • However, for screen replacement, remove the screen and apply new custom cut adhesive tape.
