Samsung SGH-F480 Disassembly

Step 1 | Removing the back panel

Flip the device over and pull the back panel downwards to release.

Remove four Phillips #00 screws.

Step 3 | Removing the battery

Tap the screen gently to remove the battery.

Avoid bending or pulling the frames as they are fragile.

  • Slide an opening pick between the frames from the bottom corners.

Do not try to separate the frames by pulling, risk of damage.

Remove button caps.

  • They may fall out during repairs.

Disconnect all motherboard connectors.

Remove the Phillips #00 screw located next to the camera module.

Be extremely cautious when handling the motherboard to avoid damaging nearby delicate cables.

  • Grasp the motherboard firmly and lift it out of its socket.

The component at the bottom is no longer secured and can be lifted out with ease.

Release the connectors latch, then gently pull the cable out.

Slide a Jimmy tool under the camera module.

Be careful not to damage any surrounding components.

Slide the Jimmy tool as indicated in the provided image to separate the frame from the screen.

Step 13

Release the menu button upwards.

Step 14

Insert a Jimmy tool between the frame and the earpiece module, then slide it out.

Step 15 | Removing the camera module

Lift the camera module from its socket.

Step 16 | Removing the display

Careful not to damage the fragile display.

  • Slide a Jimmy tool between the display frame and the display.
  • Avoid sliding it too far, as the display is extremely delicate.
