This repair guide helps to replace the rear-facing camera.
Insert a plastic opening tool into the gap between the rear panel and inner rear frame near the rear-facing camera.
Remove the rear panel from the Nexus S.
Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to gently lift the battery from its retaining clip at the end nearest the headphone jack.
Remove the Six Phillips screws holding the rear inner frame to the inner case.
Insert plastic opening tool between rear inner frame and top left corner.
Insert the plastic opening tool to the right of the power button.
Release the bottom clips near the device's base.
Insert the plastic opening tool into position and gently pry it inwards.
Make sure not to apply too much pressure, which can damage the components.
Remove the rear inner frame of the Nexus S by lifting it out.
Pry the SIM Board connector off its socket on the motherboard using the flat edge of a plastic opening tool.
Insert the plastic opening tool between the SIM Card board and the motherboard.
Remove the SIM Card board from the Nexus S by lifting it out.
Insert the flat edge of a plastic opening tool under the headphone jack connector, then pry it upward.
Follow the same steps used in the previous connection disconnection.
Use a plastic opening tool to carefully pry the speaker connector, highlighted in red, away from its socket on the motherboard.
Locate and carefully lift out the motherboard, taking care to avoid damaging connected cables.
Flip up the rear facing camera ZIF connector using the edge of a plastic opening tool.
Use a pair of tweezers to carefully lift and remove the rear camera from the motherboard.
